2nd Graders Learn About Government
Second grade students participated in a social studies unit about Government. They studied the importance of having a president, 3 branches of government, and many other aspects of our government. The unit began by learning vocabulary terms and using them in their daily work. Once the students felt comfortable with the vocabulary terms, they started working on an "If I Were President" campaign. The students wrote a letter to their classmates stating what laws would change if they were president. Prior to the election day, campaign posters were made! After tabulating all the votes, two class presidents were elected! The students had a lot of fun learning about government roles and citizen responsibility this month!

OHS Announces 2015 Students of the Quarter
Our 9th-10th grade student, Josh Petersen, is a freshman who is the son of Robert Petersen and Tammy Rameraz. Some of his hobbies include playing video games, fishing, and reading. His favorite class is English because he likes the way that Mr. Walker teaches the class and he has some great jokes. He would like to be an engineer and study life science after high school.

Hannah is very involved in activities at school, including: manager of the football team, basketball, track, fall play, spring musical, OWN it, National Honor Society, Roar Squad, and choir. She is an amazing singer and her favorite class is English because she enjoys reading the scripts of older plays. Her future plans include attending St. Cloud State or St. Mary’s for college.
